Step by Step

How It Works

Two sides, two short lists. You run the tournament. You still control the money — PurseKeeper just does the tracking. Neither side does anything complicated.

For the Tournament Director

  1. 1
Create the tournament. Name, date, entry fee, and — if you want to accept partial payments — a deposit requirement and balance deadline.
  2. 2
Assign the people who will operate it. They run the bracket, the format, and the floor — however your sport runs its tournaments.
  3. 3
Share the registration link with players. One link, posted wherever you already announce tournaments.
  4. 4
Receive players' e-transfers directly. Straight into your own account — never PurseKeeper's.
  5. 5
PurseKeeper matches full and partial payments to registrations. Deposits, balances, and paid-in-full — tracked automatically as they come in.
  6. 6
Review exceptions only when something can't be matched. Everything else needs no attention at all.
  7. 7
Confirm the payout values based on the money collected. A clean summary to check before you withdraw and pay out in cash — PurseKeeper doesn't approve or move anything.

For Players

  1. 1
Register for the tournament. One page, a couple of fields, done in under a minute.
  2. 2
Get the payment instructions and your unique payment code.
  3. 3
Open your banking app and send an e-transfer. Straight to the organizer or designated purse holder — the full fee, or an allowed partial payment.
  4. 4
Include your payment code in the e-transfer message.
  5. 5
Get confirmed. Once your payment is received — full or partial — PurseKeeper is notified and emails you confirming the amount received and any remaining balance.
You control the funds. PurseKeeper handles the tracking, so by tournament day the paperwork's already done — you just run it.
Why It's Set Up This Way

Nothing new to learn. Nothing to track by hand.

Still Just E-Transfer

There's no credit-card processor involved — no Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, or card-processing charge is ever deducted from an entry fee. Players keep using regular Interac e-Transfer, exactly like they already do.

No Manual Tracking on Your End

PurseKeeper reads the deposit notification your bank already sends and updates the payment record automatically — nothing to log by hand. It never handles funds itself; that stays entirely with your own account.
